Hey Gabriel, thanks for taking the time to read the article and write such a detailed response.

Part of a healthy debate for me is to have a mix of views, where some people strongly express one side of an argument (or the pros in this case), and others are able to express the opposite side (the cons). If someone comes out and says design systems are amazing and you have to use them, I would not assume they think that someone who disagrees is necessarily an idiot and not open to debate. Likewise, I would never take such a negative personal view of anyone who has a different professional opinion and experiences to me about something like design systems. Personally, I like to read strong views that are challenging, but I appreciate it won't be to everyone's liking.

To point 2, I agree in large part about what you're saying, although the logic appears to be more directed to the importance of brand guidelines than design systems in my opinion.

To point 3, you make a good point about junior designers, and I would add that design systems give a false illusion of, or lazy approach to, training a designer. I'm not sure I agree with your idea that design systems should not be created by designers. I don't know who would if not the designers? I believe in fact the more teams are involved the more you compound the issues with design systems.

My final thoughts... while I can see in some ways we differ in opinion and you were initially turned off by the tone of the article, I enjoyed reading your response and value the time you've taken to share your experiences and thinking on the subject. A tequila connoisseur will always have my respect ;)
